S90 timing and rattle

1997 S90, 3.0 liter-no turbo. replaced the timing belt at 70,000. Friends S90, same. Then his belt tensioner failed and Whack! Should I go back in and replace the tensioner and idler, etc.? When car starts (sometimes) engine rattles a little at the start.Then OK. Now has 112000 miles. Well maintained, great car.
