1990 740 gl 4 cyl volvo non turbo

ok this may sound weird but I got a fowl odor like rotten eggs comming from my engine and recently I put some straight antifreeze in the thing where the antifreeze goes to but cant figure out that smell? has anyone else ever experienced this before? also i recently replaced the coil on the car and my battery was so run down earlier tonight that it was like it was dead so i called aaa and they got the jumper box out and got it started. also two weeks ago bought a new starter for the car.
