I had considered it, but discounted the possibility, thinking you'd have noticed more symptoms than just lack of fuel gauge. The plug supplies the ground for the cluster, as far as I know/knew. The only other path I show for ground is at the L-shaped speedometer gauge plug... Interesting. Next time (!) I'll ask if the parking brake light works!?
