Pat, more info would help - exact readings and limits for NOx, CO and HC. CO and HC figures will tell if the cat is still good. Nox is caused by a combination of, or either, high combustion temps and high O2 (running lean). NOTHING ELSE!!Dont waste money on cleaners, etc.
Lean running is 90% likely the O2 sensor. Some cars have EGR to cool the combustion, but yours doesn't. High combustion temp could be due to high compression if the motor is very badly carboned up.
Gas type has nothing to do with it, IMHO.
