I have used this to plug holes in metal gas tanks, plastic boat tanks, lawn mower gas tanks, etc. Works great.

These directions on their web are actually for the 2part stuff.
"Squeeze out equal portions from the black and red tubes. Mix thoroughly. Clean surface to be bonded. Apply J-B STIK, and let it cure. That's all there is to it!"

The stick stuff you just cut off what you need. It does get hard rather quickly.
