Thanks for your interest and advice. Winter is rapidly descending on N.E.
Wisconsin so a decision on the repair can now wait
until spring. I'm not at all sure that I would be capable of doing the
repair myself but I will pass along your note to my regular import repair
shop. Thanks again.
