Hello,

If your car already has a M40 manual transmission and the overdrive transmission comes with the later shift cover, you can swap shift covers.

The are directly interchangeable.

You may have to drill and tap your old cover for the overdrive lockout switch and transfer the shift rail cover with reverse light switch.

FYI, For the 140 series ,Volvo supplied a special transmission crossmember to mount the overdrive that is different than the non overdrive crossmember.

Try to get the overdrive crossmember when you get the transmission if is it the correct one.
