The coil wire--inside 444-544 1958

I drilled out the spot welds on the base cap where the cable emerges from and pulled the wire out from the cable. Most of the wire still contained insulation, albeit, cracked and broken in spots from age. The cap itself had a lot of rust underneath. It's probably best to start with a new coil, I guess, though this one might still be good. Thanks for your assistance.
