Rear Upper shock bolt problems 700

Though the original post is four years old, I am now baffled why my right rear upper shock bolt has loosened and fallen out. ('90 760 GLT sedan). This may be a common problem? Fortunately, I was able to retrieve it from a city street as I suspected an unusual event was seconds away. Not long after I replaced my nivomats three years ago, I began to hear thumping coming from that area. I did several inspections over the months and never found anything amiss. Even re-torqued that bolt. So, I'm back to re-inserting the said bolt and re-torquing back to what I believe is the specified torque, 63 ft-lbs. I don't see any damage to the welded nut. The bolt appears to be in relatively goos shape, though I should be using a new one.

Any one else experienced this? Solutions?

For the fun of Volvos,
Mike
