Intermitent speedometer function 900 1991

Pretty sure it's the wires at the sending unit back at the differential. An easy fix, I did it with electrical tape, meaning to go back and put heat shrink tubing on the wires. As with a lot of my temporary fixes, it's still in place, but it works. I assume the odometer is also not working?
