I've been playing with the old ECU table that's been posted over the years. One of the things I want to do is migrate it to a spreadsheet, but later. In adding info, one of the things I'd like to verify is the absence or presence of cold start valves. I think it's pretty well agreed that the cold start valves in LH disappeared for '93. The only posts I've found about CS in '92 seem to be accompanied by corrections later in the posts. I would not doubt though, that Volvo slipped a few cars into late '92 with the no-CS valve change. Anyone have confirmation?
My experience is that the no-CS-in-93 is across the board. 2/7/9 series--all cars. Comments? Only certain lines?
There are some anomalies in the table on the years that different ECUs apply to. If, for example, a 935 is available in '92, it would have CS function. But it's listed for '94 too, though no model is specified. Which brings up another thought: If a CS valve ECU is put into a no CS vehicle, will the system run the main injectors rich enough for a really cold start? I know CS doesn't come in until the ambient is way down, but curious. Likewise, if you have a non-CS ECU in a car with a CS, what happens? CS just doesn't function we assume? Pinout for the valve is probably absent, though the rest is the same.
