I can't vouch for how this would work on a 240, but I recall a discussion similar to this from my days in the Triumph Spitfire circles on the internet - http://triumphspitfire.rickbaines.com/recovering-a-cracked-dashboard-top/

I've got a '92 with one small crack that I should see to. What is the best preventative plasticizer that people use?
