if it is jumping off the track you probably need to tighten the tensioner. FWIW it is easiest to loosen off the tensioner, install the cable/chain then tension 'til perfect. If memory serves there is a an access hole in the inner panel that allows you to reach the tensioner, and with those little self ratcheting spanners it is easy.
