Its down to replacing the interior & installing the front & rear windows in my '65 PV. I have a new headliner which I'd like to get installed but I have a few questions. I'm not sure how the headliner gets installed around the rear window. When I got the car the headliner had already been removed. I was thinking it might be easier to install the headliner without the front & rear glass installed but I could be mistaken. Any advice welcomed. Some photos of an installed headliner detailing the areas where it meets the rear window, rear deck, and front window/sun visor areas would be most helpful.
I'll also be replacing the door windlace which also is UA. I'm rather clueless on the details of the B pillar trim piece that covers the windlace nailing strip. Detail photos of this area would also be most helpful.
I've been honing my upholstery skills lately by making new seat covers for my motorcycles, and I'm considering making new covers for the door panels & the rear seat. The original cardboard I have for the back seat side panels/armrests are fine, but the front door panels are gone. Does anyone have a recommendation for a material to make new door panels out of; not the covers, but the backing board. I was hoping to find a material like Luan, rigid plastic, formica, something thin & stiff that is suitable as a replacement & is easy to find at like Home Depot. Any recommendations?
I have sound deadening & insulating material for the floor but I need some carpet. I plan to cut my own mimicking the pattern shown for the replacement carpet set offered by VP. Any sources appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
