Ah that's a different thing with the 122S's.

The number on the type plate is a chassis number of production cars, whilst the other plate is a body number, of bodies produced.

The body number is always higher than the chassis number. Difference being that some bodies were not sold, but used for crash testing, or were destroyed due to manufacturing flaws.

The chassis number on the type plate is also stamped on the firewall.
