The Finer Things In Life

A bra for 1986-1993 Volvo 240?

The leather shift boot also on Spokane craigslist.

The Volvo 240 OEM Virgos 15" alloy wheel are highly overrated. They are very heavy, soft, and bought used may require around a 50-90$ refinish job. The alloy in alloy wheels, when left naked, causes the ferrous alloy metal parts like brake rotors and parking brake shoes to corrode; faster in wet environments.

You can find 15" x 5x5" or 6" or so wide steel wheels from 700/900 series (if you can find them). The original Volvo 242 GT 14" wheels are very lite and very durable, if you can find these. The 700/900 series offers up a variety of five spoke (like Virgos) as well as vaned (like the much maligned Corona wheels you see on 240 GLs from the 1980s).

Rainbow Auto Service' website has an image of many Volvo alloy wheels at this web page. http://rainbowautoservice.com/parts/AlloyWheels.htm

I'd say limit wheel size to 15" by 5.5" as the 240 rear wheel well is narrow. Use 60 series 195 tires or so. Do your research. Alloys require refinishing unless already refinished.

Volvo steelies can be beat.

I've collected interior parts from old Volvo with the black soft vinyl (no moon roof) or hard (moon roof equipped) roof head liner. You can only remove the entire black roof headliner with the windshield out, unless someone knows otherwise. With the white headliner you have in your 1992 240, you can replace the three rear white retainers with black ones from a black headliner Volvo 240 (I think 700/900 uses the same). Black oh sheet handles all around (even for the driver). And with moon roof, the black moon roof trim around the moon roof hatch that contrasts nicely with your stock white headliner.

I have a 1992 with the what looks like the Volvo IPD Turbo exhaust. I think it's too loud and it adds nothing for performance. The turbo exhaust uses one resonator/muffler where as stock Volvo 240 exhaust uses two. I have to look more closely at mine for union leaks, anyhoo. It gets quieter as the rear and only muffler heats up. Thankfully sounds nothing like the stupid Honda and VW fart car sounding exhaust. Just too loud.

Install TransWarp drive from the U.S.S. Excelsior.

Energized Barium Matter in the windshield washer fluid reservoir. Anti matter in a container in the right side accessory trunk well.

Navigation deflector mounted into the Volvo emblem on the grille. Keeps the windshield chips away!

The TransWarp drive engine nacelles can pop up and out of the rear fender wells on each side.

TranbsPhasic torpedo launchers? Front and rear phaser or disruptor cannons?

Subspace comm and surround sound audio?

Hee-hee!
