Hello all,
I have a '91 240SE Wagon that has developed quite the odd set of starting symptoms. In the last two weeks, it has begun starting very roughly if at all from a cold start; the engine catches and limps along for 30-90 seconds before either catching fully and running without a problem or dying, requiring another 30 seconds of cranking to try again. When the car has been running in the previous 30-60 minutes, it starts with no problems, but after 60 minutes the difficulty increases in proportion to time spent sitting. The issue is completely resolved if I depress the accelerator ~5-10mm while cranking; it roars to life and has no problems thereafter. I replaced the check valve 3 months ago when experiencing similar symptoms and they disappeared; I took it in for an alignment and asked my mechanic to take a look, and there were no problems with the fuel line/check valve/fuel pump. Any ideas as to what I should be looking for here? Thanks in advance for all your help.
