fast idle problem concluded, sort of

I posted a couple times (at least) about a mysterious fast idle if I accelerate hard such as getting on to the freeway, then the engine would get a fast idle. ONLY turning engine off then back on would make it idle normally.

After the postings I made here and getting good solid recommendations here in the ‘Board, going to 2 good independent and reputable Volvo repair shops AND the local Volvo dealers shop, and spending about 600$$ for just labor in searching out the cause, the problem still exists. I’ve had mechanics searching out with ohm meters, volt meters, etc, and plain ol’ eyeballing everything.

Tried just replacing some items such as the idle control valve, AMM, etc. . After all that, the fast idle as I described, remains.

I guess if I spent another $600 or so maybe someone might find the cause but gotta know when to stop and I probably “should have” stopped $400 ago. What’s that saying?--”A fool and his money are soon parted”--? yeah-feels like that.

So I am now just going to live with the 'mysterious fast idle'

I have “officially” given up!! :oÞ~~~~
