A milestone delayed 1800 1973

Indeed a milestone.
But oh, that speedometer would drive me crazy. I'd have to disconnect it.
OCD issues I suppose - me, not the car.

Obviously the cable routing on an 1800 is different, but I've used an auto transmission (early BW 35 w/ the long tailshaft) speedometer cable on a number of 140s with d and j types. Never needed an angle drive and could make all gentle sweeps up to the speedometer head. Haven't broken a cable or had bouncing speedometers in well over 100,000 miles.
