After several days of no problems, the no start condition re-emerged as did a code: P0118 - - Engine coolant temperature circuit, high input
I had checked the fuel pressure already - it's fine so it appears that the pump is working and the engine sounds like it wants to catch. All of this led me to think that maybe a bad CTS could be leading to a lean mix for a cold start. This morning I tried this theory out by shooting in a little starting fluid and the engine fired right up. I let it warm up for 20 minutes, turned it off and it started right up again.
I ordered the CTS and will install it. Two questions:
1. Could a bad CTS by itself cause the no start?
2. Do I need to remove the thermostat housing to replace the CTS? If so, do I need a new gasket as well?
Thanks!
