OIL Indicator is indeed a simple circuit: Power is applied to Indicator (Fuse 1 circuit), low side of indicator is grounded by oil pressure sender at engine block when pressure is below its switching point.

AMP Indicator on the other hand is a lot more complicated...it has voltage on BOTH sides and can light for two very different reasons...see here: http://www.sw-em.com/AMP_Indicator_ON.htm
