Luckily (lol!), the car has stopped starting! I finally had a chance to look at it a bit today, and going with John's AMM theory, I unplugged it, and the car came much closer to starting. So, I swapped in the AMM from my n/a 940 (thankfully the same p/n) and it fired right up.
