Rad Thinking... 120-130 1967

Hello,

A radiator shop will probably fix the crack 1st and then pressure test.

We have had some bad experiences with some of our local radiator shops. Most of them want to prematurely replace the cores so they can make more money.

So if they do recommend a re-core, take the time to go down and have them demonstrate why you need a core. They should be willing if they want the sale.

If the only reason is fin rot, you can still ask them to fix the crack and pressure test to make sure there are no other leaks. A radiator with fin rot will not be as efficient, but you obviously do not want any leaks.
