Man, sure is good to hear from vintage Volvo folks. Haven`t been on the board much lately. All good suggestions. I had a weak ignition coil on a Fiat 128 kinda act like this years ago. A Bosch Blue eliminated the problem, but this is unique in that it will sometimes occur coming back through the throttle travel spot on decel: i.e. no load on the engine.


She`s not to lean at idle for sure. The carbs were rebuilt by Z-Therapy and have good throttle shaft bushings. I`m beginning to wonder about a vacuum leak or intake manifold leak somewhere. I haven`t checked float levels or debris in float bowls for a while either, but I run inline filter all the time. Dashpot oil level and type is good.
