This is why I run minimal coverage on my Volvos. If they are in an accident, I don't make a claim. I tell the insurance company that the damage is minimal and I can repair it. 2 of my 3 Volvos have been in accidents serious enough to be totaled. I repaired them myself and they are perfectly fine. Maryland is the same way as Florida, once a salvage title is issued, the car can never be re-registered or driven again.
