Thank you very much. The video gave me an opportunity to actually see what I was working at behind that small slot.

The additional advice on using something heavier than a coat hanger caused me to switch to a long shaft screwdriver 1/8" in diameter- the same one I use on the spring clips when I need to remove the instrument cluster trim on the later 7/9 cars.
