This is indeed very sad news. I've followed the progress of his respiratory disease on a daily basis on the 1800 list, and it was clear that he was in bad shape - but I didn't expect this to happen so soon.

I've never met George in person but have corresponded with him numerous times. He taught me a lot, no just about Volvos, but about how to be a good, careful mechanic. I'll miss his contributions. RIP, Walrus.
