This is crazy, but could you have opened the wrong drain plug? ...

No offense taken at all, Ken C!

I was asking myself the same damn thing. The oil pan is the larger one, painted red. I did empty the smaller pan towards the rear of the car, I believe it was a 12mm bolt...I'm sure it was not the engine oil. Besides, what came out was reddish dark and very very old, and the last time I checked the oil (last week) it was sweet and new.

No, this was some weird coincidence, or i accidentally dislodged something.

The whole thing, the tranny fluid stopping it's flow during the flush, the oil dump, it's all got me pretty nervous...at least I only drove about 200 feet! I'm looking forward to having a mechanic tell me all is mostly well! or so i hope
