That is a bummer! If you were on the right coast, I could hook you up with someone. Lots of good engines here, few good bodies.

I had this happen many years ago with a VW Beetle- it lost the brass "faucet" that was the tube for the accelerator pump. Down the intake, rattled around inside a cylinder and finally out an exhaust port. The damage was significant though it still ran.
