repaired header pipe.... 700 1992

I was having a difficult time pulling the trigger on total replacement of the exhaust system at this point. Time, money, and the temperature of workspace all factored in to look for another option.

I searched the web and found QuikSteel listed as a possible solution. Bonus points due to quick local availability at Advance Auto for less than $10. Positive reinforcement via YouTube video. A call to a mechanic friend who had heard of it and knew of someone that had suggested it as the best "cheap" fix he had used.

I was able to pull the front of the system out from under the car and clean up the surface with a die grinder.

I applied the thick liquid material and spread it around with a small screwdriver and allowed the material to cure for 24 hours.

I reinstalled the system and have driven the car about 40 miles so far. At this point there is no apparent leaking and it is quiet. How long it will last is the true test, but at this point I am happy enough with the results of my efforts.

Thanks for everyones' responses. Lucid, I appreciate the part number for the
Volvo pipe replacement. I think that would be the way I would go to avoid a possible poorly fitted aftermarket headpipe.

Randy
