Hello everyone, I have an 85 245 that had an intermittent hard start for about a month, now it just cranks. So far I have replaced/checked:
-replaced hall sensor/ distributor with rebuilt
-replaced 25 amp fuse and holder
-replaced fuel pump relay with known good
-swapped coil from running car
-checked fuses
-swapped in Ignition control module from junkyard. The connections are covered in brown gunk, which I assume is old dialectic grease. Should I clean all this up?
-Confirmed rotor is turning, so timing belt is intact.
The car gets no spark out of coil, but has power running to it on all 4 terminals.
fuel pumps run when fuses 4&6 are jumpered, but not otherwise (I assume do to no spark)
It's possible I installed the distributor 180 degrees out, but It should still start right? Just run terribly?
It ran beautifully, I parked it, and it just wouldn't restart so I know it's nothing mechanical, but I'm kinda at wits end. Any ideas?
