fwiw block heater are great....my old 5 cyl diesel spins fast after a night on the block even at -25C...startts right up....if I didn't have a block heater I would be tempted by the heated coolant with circulating pump type as the added advantage would be instant heat in the cabin as well (and a clever soul might even work out a way to run the cab so the fans in the cab prewarmed it).
