remote entry installation 700 1989

Only the driver's door needs to be "wired" since it is the only one that does not already have a lock/unlock solenoid in it. You find a junkyard one of these and install and wire into the driver's door, connecting the wiring to the existing central locking harness. The aftermarket remote receiver then connects to the lock/unlock relay wiring.

Of course this is a big oversimplification, but if you are reasonably familiar with automotive electrical goings-on it is a DIY project. One of the former big contributors here (Dave Shannon) had the complete tutorial for this project on his website; unfortunately he has moved on to other interests and taken down the site.
