It's termed a Yakazi speedo- as to differentiate from a VDO.
I went through several speedometers, before i found one off of a 1992 960 that worked on my 1991 940 .
To change the capacitors and to do the job correctly would require revamping the entire circuit board, as the boards themselves are sensitive to the heat of re-soldering, even if you use a small tool.
You can buy the capacitors required from Radio Shack.
You would be better served by getting replacement from PicknPull or some yard close to where you live. Would make your project much easier. I paid about $25 or so for the console.
