Disconnect battery and turn the ignition key to the on position to retract the steering column lock.
Remove horn ring cover, disconnect horn wire, remove steering wheel nut, remove steering wheel. Remove the plastic turn signal cancel/spacer, notice the notch that matches the pin on the back of the steering wheel. Remove the thin flat washer and spring.
Remove 3 steering column cowl screws, remove steering column cowl
Loosen steering column housing clamp sheer bolts. I have used a small chisel to nick the side of the sheer bolts to create a ledge to push the head anti-clockwise with the chisel to loosen. Don't remove the sheer bolts yet.
Remove the Allen head locating pin for the steering column lock adapter housing where it wraps around the steering column housing.
Slide steering column housing away from the dash enough to access the 2 turn signal switch screws. Be careful not to break any wires.

Tips for re-installation of steering column.
I don't like the sheer bolts as they sometimes sheer too early leaving the column loose enough to slide, possibly due to an old dried up steering column bushing. The steering column bushings are still available new for $10.00. I also have the sheer bolts, but I do prefer installing a bolt, usually an Allen bolt in place to get the clamp for the column housing good and tight so the column housing won't move.
Before you tighten the steering column housing clamp bolts and with the Allen head set screw for the steering column lock housing started, make sure the steering column housing is lined up so the steering column lock engages properly by using the lock several times. Temporarily install the steering wheel without the inner pieces to test.
After tightening the column clamp fasteners, triple check to make sure the steering column lock works properly and is still centered in the hole in the dash. FYI, the grommet for the hole in the dash is also available new.
Lastly, in case your replacement switch is faulty, new turn signal switches are available, if your VIN is lower than 33380.
