Can you identify this item? 1800 1972

Planetman,
Thank you for identifying it. I do have A/C. There are two wires emanating from the air/vacuum switching valve/solenoid component. One goes to a ground and the other to a relay. I couldn't trace the one wire coming from the relay. One of the two hoses coming from the solenoid goes to a tee on a hose going to the coolant temp sensor. The remaining outlet hose is just left dangling!. My main question is : What should that disconnected hose be connected to? Also a vacuum line is routed from the solenoid to an attachment that joins the hose coming from the intake manifold to the power brake.
