Thanks Paulii. I have the replacement bushings now and I can't believe how light weight these things are. I'm going to fill the voids with some poly. If it stiffens them up a little that will be good with me. Having them in hands I see they'll press in fine and the notch you're talking about. I also drive an old '87 bimmer and most of the suspension/control arm bushings are considered maintenance items.
