What do you guys think about calling it a Strut (Housing- optional) Retaining nut or cap?

The word gland does lead one to think about a seal. The term "Bonnet" nut, used by plumbers on faucets, might mean a hood of a car to the English.

Is that an engine cover or a trunk?

I am confused or is this a mechanics of the trade thing, that's like oil and water?

One greasy boy and one water boy playing, whoops that's now into sports!😳
