a friend of mine gave be a few spare wiper assemblies when I had some trouble with mine. When I checked them I like the cable set up. But when I tried to install it I found that the 2 shafts that stick out through the cowl were just too close together. Were the different versions made? I have a 1968 which I thought was set up that way originally. It has had the linkage type ever since I've owned it and that 35 years now. Does anyone know if there are different versions with different spacing?
