I also have an early 70's Craftsman induction light, it works great.
One tip from Mechanics Illustrated - put a 3" piece of old radiator hose on the tip of the light - it throws better light and will allow your light to survive if you touch the spinning radiator fan.
BTW - anecdote - I purchased a Sears kit that consisted of the light, an engine analyzer meter, a remote starter , and some extra bits - the kit has instructions for 50 tests or so. I used the money that I saved up when I gave up cigarettes!
