I was just about to do a search on those clamps. Thanks for the link. A friend of mine said that might be the problem right there. The enclosure should be tightly closed.

Which hose are we talking about, here? The large one that goes to the air filter enclosure?

I'll look around for the Air Mass Meter.And thanks for the tip on the thermal paste. That would make sense and I can almost guarantee that it hasn't been done in a while. I bought the car at 160K and it's at 174K, now.
