my 91 940T had a momentary high speed miss a couple of times the other day, each episode lasting only a couple of seconds. I was travelling uphill at roughly 3800rpm, and was accelerating. I let off the gas each time and it cleared up. It ran fine after that for several days.
Yesterday heading into town at about 2200rpm, under no load, I could feel a very faint miss every 5 seconds or so for a couple of minutes, then it cleared up.
In neither case did I notice the tach needle drop, however I suspect (just by the symptoms) that it may be the power stage. on the driver front fender. Last year I had it off and ensured it was properly gooped with conducting paste.
In my cultch heap (thank you George) I have a spare power stage, however the number on it is 0 227 100 124, and the one in the car is 0 227 100 106. Can anyone tell me if these two are compatible?
Also, please let me know if you think my diagnosis may be incorrect and you may have another suggestion as to what is causing this miss.
Another item that may also stem from the same issue is that the rpm drop almost to a stall sometimes when coming to a stop, then immediately recovers. I thought that might be the TB and IAC assemblies in need of cleaning, but perhaps it is related to the missing issue.
Thanks
