This is farely useless info for a 120, but on my widened 164 5.5" wheels i took 1/2" off the inside and added 2" to the outside, giving me exactly what I was looking for 25+ years ago when 205/60×15"
were coming on the market. For awile i had 205/65×15 and that was the maximum diametre.
17" is likely too big, what can you get in 16" rim & tyres? I think 205mm wide rims require 7" wide rims. Not hard to find out what X tyre needs for certain nominal rim width and I consider what the tyre company says is the be all and end all. Every 205/60×15" tyre I have had recomends 6.5 or 7" rims, nominal and no matter which tyre, the widest recommended rim handles best with the widest nominally recommended rim. 205/60×15" on a 15"×7" rim produces a tyre which sticks out furter than than the rim.
