Did find a couple feet of cable wound up in the take-up or storage reel. Thought this would be a quickie fix. However the cable would stall out just prior to entering the storage reel.

The FAQ's offered good info but somewhat contradictory about motor lubrication. I disassembled the motor per the FAQ's removed all the dried grease which was likely 10 year old Lubriplate 105?

Closely inspected the gears, ramps and storage reel. Applied fresh Lubriplate 105 sparingly especially to the ID of the storage reel. Made certain the cable was unrestricted and not binding.

Since I have a broken leg I had to come up with an alternative method to feed the cable to the motor. First powered the motor to full extension position, disconnect plug at the motor, then flip dash switch to retract, key on. As this is a wagon I have a place to sit. The entire assembly can be separated from the vehicle, I can then plug in the motor and feed the antenna into the parent cable housing.

The entire assembly is easily installed back in the wagon, Oh yeah, it works great now! Wife is happy not to make multiple trips to the barn to push buttons. :-(
