M40/M41 jumping out of reverse 1800

With the 1800 you have to lift the lever and get the lower collar up and over a stepped plate when going into reverse. Make sure that this is fixed properly and not worn, Adding a thin washer under the plate at each bolt can sometimes help to tighten things up. Don't make the washers too thick or you'll have difficulty lifting the collar over the plate. If the nylon pivot cups are worn it will make things worse.
