Timing gears 444-544

I'm not sure by your description - but what it sound like to me is - your old fiber gear has separated from its metal hub--now left on the end of the camshaft. If that's the case you now need a "gear puller" of one sort or another to remove the old hub from the cam. In an "emergency" you can use two pry bars with bent flat ends. Be sure to leave the spacer ring you'll find under the hub on the camshaft. Without it the new gear will get jammed against the engine block when the nut is tightened. -- Dave
