Oil problem 140-160 1972

I think Kitty is suggesting that you add the oil, wait for it to drain into the pan, and check the dipstick.

Then start engine and let the filter fill. Give the oil time to get back into the pan, and check the dipstick again. The difference will be how much oil is in the filter.
