Base ignition timing B18B 1800 1965

I have run the idle as low as 500 RPM with the stock base timing and would still diesel, my question was if anyone else has added extra base timing with success as i have, i have gained performance and fixed the dieseling. again i am now running 25 degrees of advance at 1500RPM with no sign of pinging. I plan on adding even more advance until i get pinging then back off a couple of degrees. Anyone else ever try this on a a B18?
