If your 1800ES is using the original D-jet fuel injection, then VFH is correct that a 1975 distributor will not work.

There are several bolt in electronic conversion kits as well as the 123Ignition distributor which is an all new all electronic distributor and they make a version that works with the D-jet fuel injection.
