Source of the Donuts 200 1990

"Unless exhausts don't use them anylonger, you would think that any muffler shop would have them. "

Same thing I wondered! So after both my son-in-law and I had snapped one from Walker/Tenneco/Fonos/Starla trying to install it, I poked around on-line at the auto parts outlets trying to determine if there was another application for this donut -- maybe another car and hoping for another manufacturer. My impression after wasting time in their websites was they are only for Volvos and only Walker supplies them.

"this was a while back at the Midas ... "

Yes. A while back, the donuts I installed had the decency to wait a few years before breaking. It brought to mind the general complaints on all rubber parts being molded for the automotive aftermarket lately. Strut mounts for example. It reminds me of the oil problems we had in the 70's resulting in so much brittle plastic.

These are the donuts from Volvo. They are softer. Easier to stretch.

I wonder about this part: http://www.rmeuropean.com/Products/666407-MFG131.aspx

The price is right.
